Ms. Bharti Nagpal is a seasoned journalist with over 25 years of experience in the media industry. She began her career as a crime reporter, and over the years expanded her expertise into investigative, human interest and political journalism, working with leading national news channels such as Zee News, Rajya Sabha TV, Jain TV, News World India among others
She has worked in different capacities in news channels such as a prime-time morning news anchor, Producer and a reporter. She has reported extensively on major political developments and has covered several Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections, providing in-depth political analysis and on-ground reporting. In her role as an Anchor, Deputy Executive Producer and Investigative Journalist in Zee news, Bharti produced a famous program "The Inside Story", which was nominated for the Indian Telly Awards. One of the investigative episodes, focused on the issue of adulterated milk, won the Best Programme Award at the New York Film Festival, and Bharti received the Best Writer Award for the same. She has covered high-risk investigative assignments, including sting operations that exposed widespread corruption and malpractice. Her work on issues such as fake witnesses in courts, banned drugs, terrorist sleeping cells, and irregularities in blood banks led to significant outcomes and follow-up actions. In 2024, she was honored with the Bharat Gaurav Award for her outstanding contribution to Indian journalism. She has conducted media workshops for students and is a well-known speaker at media events and academic forums. She has taught journalism as a guest faculty in several media institutions and is the author of a book "Working for Media", written for journalism students. The book is available on Amazon. Before joining IMSIT as a Director, she served as the Dean at News24’s ISOMES, where she contributed extensively to curriculum development, academic leadership and student mentorship.
