Right from basking in the beauty of natural flora, to enjoying the glimpses of exotic birds to having an adrenaline rush via various adventure sports, you name it and we have it at our Sattal Campsite set up by YMCA. With lush green mountains and serene freshwater lakes dotting the landscape of Sattal, the YMCA Campsite provides an ideal setting for camping, adventure sports and leisure holiday.

Thus, the YMCA Campsite-cum-Programme had to be nowhere else, but here! Even paragliding at Bhimtal and Naukuchiatal is definitely something to look forward to.

Why are we unique

The only campsite in Kumaon which has a natural access to a lake.
The only campsite blessed with a historic sports ground on which Indian athletes for the Olympics have been trained in the past.
Being part of the larger Methodist Estate area the campsite has access to 400 acres of land kept untouched and pristine, just ideal for campers and adventure seekers.

Community Development Initiatives at SATTAL

We not only provide the youth with recreation but since 2010 are also engaged in community development programmes for the village women folk. After-all, our mission is to build a just and equitable society. So it has to be a mutual relationship with the village folk around the camp.

We conduct survey on the needs of the village women folk and then train them with necessary skills which in-turn helps them add to the family income. 8 SHGs in 2011 with 70 ladies the programme has grown to 268 women members in 16 SHGs in 2017. The ladies also participate in vocational training. More than 240 women have been trained so far in cutting & tailoring, embroidery, cushion making, beauty & make-up, soft toy making and fabric painting.

We believe in empowering the youth and marginalised people by connecting human beings through creation of a 'Just and Equitable Society'. And this can only be done by taking into practice the 'Spiritual Strength and Welfare Orientation flowing out of the teachings of Lord Jesus Christ', and walking the path of his teachings through the following values in which we find our strengths.
